1. How can I check the status of a claim for a Blue KC member?
Log in to the Blue KC Provider Portal and navigate to the Claims/Eligibility section. Here you can view the status of submitted claims.

2. Where do I verify a member’s eligibility and benefits for their Blue KC plan?
Eligibility and benefit details are available 24/7 on the Provider Portal under the Claims/Eligibility section after logging in.

3. How do I access remittance advices and explanations of benefits (EOB) for my patients?
You can access remittance advices and EOBs through the Provider Portal once logged in. These documents are located alongside claims and coverage information.

4. How can I update or verify my contact information in the Blue KC Provider Directory?
Log in to the Provider Portal and review your listing in the Provider Directory. You can verify and update your practice’s contact information there.

5. What should I do if I forget my Provider Portal password or it expires?
Contact your Organizational Administrator or call 816-395-3700 to reset your password. Keep in mind that passwords expire every 120 days with regular use and every 30 days without a login.

6. How do I request access to the Blue KC Provider Portal for my practice or facility?
Go to Providers.BlueKC.com, click Register Now, complete the registration form, and click Submit. You’ll receive login credentials by email.

7. Can multiple users in my practice share a single login for the Provider Portal?
No. In accordance with HIPAA, each user must have their own unique username and password. Login credentials must not be shared.

8. Where can I find Blue KC’s medical policies and payment policies?
Medical policies are available in the Provider Portal after login. Payment policies can be accessed directly at Providers.BlueKC.com/ContactUs/PaymentPolicies without logging in.

9. Do I need to log in to search for a doctor or network provider through Blue KC?
No. The Find a Doctor tool is publicly accessible and does not require a login.

10. How often do I need to sign in to the Provider Portal to avoid password expiration?
To avoid expiration, sign in at least once every 30 days. With regular use, passwords automatically expire every 120 days.

Blue KC’s 24/7/365 Provider Portal

Member information such as the status of a claim, eligibility of a member, benefits or coverage of a member’s plan, remittance advices, explanation of benefits (EOB) and medical policies. 

A Provider Directory, which enables members and providers to find addresses and telephone numbers for network providers affiliated with Blue KC. Providers can use this site to verify the accuracy of their own contact information. 

The organizational administrator who has the responsibility of adding and managing the users in a Provider’s practice/facility will need access to the portal. Please do not share login information, HIPAA requires that each user have their own username and password. After login, access under the header titled Account Administration and the Manage Users area is on the right. 

You must sign in once every 30 days or the password will expire. With regular usage, passwords will expire every 120 days. Contact your Organizational Administrator or call 816-395-3700 for a password reset. 

Providers must login to the Providers.BlueKC.com to access claims and eligibility information, forms, benefits or coverage of a member’s plan, remittance advices and medical policies. Login is not necessary to use Find a Doctor. 

Blue KC Payment Policies can be found at Providers.BlueKC.com/ContactUs/PaymentPolicies without a specific login and give guidance on payment methodologies. 

Request Access to Provider Portal

Follow these steps: 

  1. From Providers.BlueKC.com click REGISTER NOW. 
  2. Complete the form. 
  3. Click SUBMIT. 

You will receive an email with login information. 

Login to Provider Portal 

Follow these steps: 

  1. Go to Providers.BlueKC.com
  2. Type Username and Password, then click LOGIN. 

All alphabetic characters in usernames and initial passwords are lower case.

Navigate the Provider Portal

After logging in, the Home page will be displayed. From the Home page, use the navigation menu across the top or left side of the page: 

  • Claims/Eligibility
  • Communications 
  • Resources 
  • Forms 
  • Medical Policies 
  • Account Administration 

In the upper right see Find a Doctor, Contact and the LOG OFF links.
